A gray afternoon: clouds hang low, steady soft rain, and the stiff breeze that pours off the lake where in the distance the sky and water blend into one. But there is beauty to be seen in the other runners: some grimacing and in pain, others focused and serene, one or two with big grins on their faces, just happy to be outside and moving no matter the weather. There is beauty to be felt in the slap of sole and pavement, in the constant motion of legs, in the spring in the step and the rain drops coating your eyelashes. There is beauty to be known in the play of water and sky, of movement and life and the scent of the lake that makes every step seem that much more outdoors than the last.
What did you see that was beautiful today?
